Black Equity Organisation

Digital launch and ongoing partnership for the UK's first national Black civil rights organisation - built for scrutiny, sustained by smart automation.

The Black Equity Organisation launched in 2022, founded by some of the UK’s most prominent Black leaders BEO with the ambition of becoming the UK equivalent of the NAACP – a serious, permanent institution rather than a moment. The launch had significant public attention, major institutional backing, and an audience that would scrutinise every detail. The website had to be ready.

We built and launched the BEO’s digital platform knowing it would face that level of attention from day one. The priority was a site that was bold and accessible, gave the communications team real autonomy, and could scale as the organisation grew into its ambitions – from campaigns and legal action to community programmes and policy work.

The more interesting story, though, is what we built behind the scenes. BEO operates with a small internal team doing a significant amount of work, so reducing manual overhead was essential from the start. We designed and built an automation stack connecting Airtable, Enthuse, Zapier and Mailchimp – handling donation processing and donor communications, managing supporter data, automating onboarding and follow-up sequences, and keeping the organisation’s growing community connected without requiring hands-on management at every step.

It’s the kind of infrastructure that lets a lean team punch well above its weight – and it’s the kind of work we find most satisfying to do.
