A decade-long technical partnership with one of the UK's most forward-thinking trade unions - built on deep API integration and automation that keeps thousands of members connected.

Community is a modern trade union representing workers across dozens of sectors — from steelworkers and prison officers to teachers and the self-employed.

Their digital platform carries real operational weight: member login and self-service, a RepCentre for union representatives, legal services, learning and CPD, regional content, and a rolling programme of campaigns. None of it works without the back-end talking to the front-end reliably and in real time.

At the heart of that infrastructure is a deep, custom integration with SubscriberCRM — the membership management system that holds Community’s member data. Over more than ten years we’ve built and evolved a suite of API-driven features that connect the website directly to Subscriber: automating the join process, powering member referral schemes, triggering personalised rejoin links for lapsed members, and sending reminder sequences to prospective members who start but don’t complete the signup journey. These aren’t off-the-shelf connections — they’re bespoke workflows built around how Community actually operates.

The design comes from the client. Our job has been to build it properly, integrate it deeply, and keep it running as the union and its membership has grown. Ten years in, we know this system inside out — and that institutional knowledge is genuinely hard to replace.
